Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard is a small, character-driven vineyard in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA where every bottle reflects a deep sense of place and purpose. 

Founded in 1975 by Ken Burnap, who was driven to prove California could craft world-class Pinot Noir, the winery placed its roots in the cool, coastal climate of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Jeff Emery joined the team in 1979, and together they shaped a philosophy rooted in authenticity. 

Known for extended bottle aging, their wines develop nuance, complexity, and character over time. Their Pinot Noirs are savory, textured, and unique due to their distinctive note of black tea. Their additional varietals, like Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, are herbal and earthy expressions of the land. 

Every wine from Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard is released with at least five years of aging, offering a fully matured and thoughtfully made experience. Embracing natural qualities over trends, the team favors soulful winemaking that allows them to stay true to their grapes.
