The heart of Donelan Family Wines is in its name. Nestled in Santa Rosa, this family-run winery is led by patriarch and winemaker Joe Donelan, together with his sons, Tripp and Cushing.

Joe first caught the wine bug in Nantucket, a passion that brought him to California in the ’80s. There, he built a small but devoted team and established vineyards across Sonoma County, focusing on exceptional Syrah and Rhône varietals.

Today, Donelan Family Wines produces Syrah, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Roussanne, and Viognier, each crafted with the philosophy that every wine should simply taste great. Known for Sonoma’s top-tier Syrah, the Donelans uphold the intimacy of a boutique producer, where every detail reflects their love for the craft. Joe still personally calls new customers and includes handwritten notes with each order.
